WTBH #121: Hating Family and Following Jesus

Jesus often spoke hard messages. Often times we have a tendency to "domesticate" Jesus (to borrow a term from Fr. Robert Barron) by ignoring or dismissing his tough teachings. Fr. Brian suggests that instead of doing this, we should assess whether we have the fortitude to follow the real Jesus.

    Willingness to follow our heart for Jesus over our head for the worldly goods in life shows that we can become followers when we submit. Submit to His love, His desire, His eagerness to want to save us. When we realize truly what Christ wants of us, which is a mire small investment, He isn't asking for nothing more that obedience. A small price to pay for His inheritance in Heaven.
