WTBH #130: Behold Life, Our First Civil Right
Our civil rights are based on the dignity of the human person, which is rooted in God. Therefore, we, like John the Baptist must point to God (in the person of Christ) as the source our dignity, and the reason we respect human life.

At Jesus' baptism, a voice declared "This is my beloved son," revealing Jesus' true identity. We are adopted into this identity of the beloved through our own baptism, as Fr. Brian explains.

Jesus says he has come to cast down fire on the Earth and to bring not peace but division. Does this sound like the God with whom you want to spend eternity? Fr.
